Men, Mindfulness, and the End of Cynicism: A New Perspective

If you hear the words “meditation” or “mindfulness” and :

  • Immediately roll your eyes and think what bullshit, or

  • Think it’s probably something good…. but just not for you, or

  • Have seen the science and would love to get into it, but just don’t know where to start….or

  • Know it’s amazing but have just never found the time….

Then this session is for you.

What to Expect:

This is an interactive session.  No slides, no death by PowerPoint, no lecture.  Just a proper discussion on what mindfulness is and what it isn’t.  Learn a bit about the science.  Oh, and what works and what not to waste your time with.  You can even try it while you’re there if you fancy.

Come with your cynicism or even your enthusiasm.  Come with your tricky questions or rotten tomatoes.

Just come.

Cos it might just change your life.

Why should I listen to this dude?

Steve burned out while working at IBM and knows exactly what anxiety, depression, and sleeplessness feel like.  But he didn’t want to try mindfulness when he felt at his lowest cos that sounded soft and fluffy and just…..well, shit.

A chance encounter with a family member, though, gave him just enough curiosity to try it. In the same way that exercise has transformed Steve’s mental health, mindfulness has also started to.

It led him on a journey to Oxford Uni to learn mindfulness from some of the most outstanding teachers in the world, and he ended up teaching his colleagues an incredible 8-week programme.  It was so good that it went viral, with a waitlist of 500 people globally, and became the first and only corporate-approved mindfulness programme in IBM.

Since leaving IBM in 2020 Steve has taught stress-reduction courses to the most successful entrepreneurs in the UK and the biggest businesses globally.

His real passion is helping cynical men get something from this though, cos he was (and still is!) one.
